Filed in Gordon Ramsay on Oct.16, 2011
In Gordon Ramsay’s Shark Bait, the world’s most famous chef will expose the shocking practices that are threatening the existence of one of the earth’s most amazing creatures and confront the illicit fishermen, traders and diners who are responsible for the shark’s precipitous decline. Gordon Ramsay gets to witnesses how they catch sharks. Gordon joins a crew who are out at sea who have a 12 mile line out to catch fish. Gordon finds out that they use fresher shark meat as bait.

you think sharks fin taste bad (just no taste) you should try shark meat – it is saturated with uric acid (piss) because sharks can’t eliminate it from their bodies properly. that is why shark meat is so cheap and used for bait. i have seen whale shark on menu items in taipei fried with garlic but didn;t try it.

@TheWrestlingFigure he’s there not to fish, but just to see how it’s done, to understand it more… it’s kinda like a mini series around shark/sharkfins…

October 14th, 2011 at 7:12 pm
@rostant999 I agree with you, I’m also against foie gras but at least there’s no risk of extinction and duck meat is consumed…either way, ridiculous…
October 14th, 2011 at 7:19 pm
@jordy885 It’s not so much about the people that do the dirty work as the CONSUMERS that demand this product… as we do everywhere .. The deman for clothes creates slavery of kids and people being over workeed.. it’s amazing what our world has come down to =S! =(!
October 14th, 2011 at 8:02 pm
@jordy885 well you think about it, put yourself in the fishers shoes with no money, im not saying fishing for shark fins is good but you need to think what you and your family would do in there situation
October 14th, 2011 at 8:17 pm
@rostant999 at least fois gras taste good amazing
October 14th, 2011 at 8:59 pm
He must have a big bath tub
October 14th, 2011 at 9:39 pm
@GarchompXX123 for 1 there are too many people already, so I think 1 less family is better than thousands of sharks killed just for a small part of them. just because we’re smarter doesn’t mean we can just kill them for money. they were here first, so who gives a fuck if some random, poor, asian family dies.
October 14th, 2011 at 9:52 pm
Why the hell on earth are people so damn greedy???
October 14th, 2011 at 10:17 pm
Ramsays a hypocrite.. He uses fois gras in his restaurants which is just as barbaric
October 14th, 2011 at 10:23 pm
@jordy885 now you’re being an arrogant little child, think about what you just said. I’m sure you would give a “fuck” if your family dies
October 15th, 2011 at 2:15 am
@TheRealAlanPartridge What are you on about man, they are born, bred, and then killed, no harm in the numbers, and they are basically born to die. Sharks are wild, they have their limbs cut off and then thrown back in to die, and if this is continued the shark population will become 0, extinct.
Keep comparing.

This is disgusting; aren’t these men fucking-well HUMAN??? Money talks alright
October 15th, 2011 at 4:08 am
@nemissis never had fois gras never ate french food as just too expensive and not common to find in asia.
whale meat is great too but a lot of people (westerners) are against killing whales even the ones that are not endangered.
October 15th, 2011 at 6:01 am
@jordy885 Its the way they were raised and it takes a long time to undo many years of thinking this way about animals. If you want it to stop then go do something about it like convincing more people to stop eating shark fin.
October 15th, 2011 at 10:44 am
im not emotional. why am i tearing up??
October 15th, 2011 at 1:17 pm
@jordy885
thats what goverments are for.
yet the big business donates funds to keep the political parties in cash, as long as they keep donating the party looks after their interests.
legalised corruption.
